Your Google Business Profile is the box that shows your business in Google Search and Maps. It is free, and for many local searches it is the first thing customers see.
Setup
- Claim or create your profile at Google's Business Profile site and complete verification.
- Use your real business name. Do not stuff keywords into the name, which is against Google's guidelines.
- Choose the most accurate primary category, then add a few relevant secondary ones.
- Add your address if customers visit you, or set a service area if you go to them.
Details that matter
- Hours, including holiday hours.
- Phone number and website link.
- Services or menu, with plain descriptions.
- A short, honest business description.
Photos
Add real photos: storefront, team, work and products. Add new ones from time to time.
Reviews
Ask happy customers for honest reviews and reply to reviews politely, including negative ones. Never buy reviews or offer rewards for positive ones.
Keep it consistent
Make sure your name, phone and website match your website and other listings.
The Page Proper Upkeep + SEO plan includes Google Business Profile help. You always own the profile.
